When a daphnia lowers its body temp with slower heart rate, why does this occur and what lifestyle changes?

I have a question for biology that was asked. I am extremely confused and would be pleased if someone could explain the answer to the following question:

A daphnia is poikilothermic. Its heart rate would slow when its body temperature decreases. Why does this occur, and in what ways must its lifestyle change to accommodate this effect?
